I have chosen “Introduction to Middleware Systems” and “Cloud Computing” as my subjects for first semester and classes will start next week. Lets see how can I manage both work and studies at same time

I am gonna use this blog to test these features

We were eleven friends and we booked a 13 seater Tempo for our complete tour i.e. Bangalore – Coorg – Bangalore. We reached Bangalore on 4th July morning and we immediately started to Coorg. It was around 2 PM when we reached Madikeri. We stayed at Aahan Homestay which is around one km after Club Mahindra. Its located in beautiful place and we booked Groupstay in it which costed us Rs. 300 per head per day.

It started raining when we reached there and we knew that it would not stop. So, we went to visit Abbey Falls in rain. We all were surprised as we did not expect the water falls to be that big and everyone enjoyed. Our next place was Raja’s Seat. Its a view point famous for sunset. But in those thick clouds, we could hardly see Sun. We returned back to cottage after that.

My birthday was on 5th July, so they planned to celebrate it on 4th night. They could not find a Cake there and could only manage to get Chocolate Pastries. After Pastry cut at 12 AM, everyone got ready to give me birthday bumps. But I sweetly rejected their offer . They tried to convince me for some time, but then returned to their rooms with disappointment. Sorry buddies and thanks for celebrating my birthday

Second day, 5th July, we went first to Namdroling’s Golden Temple. Its Lord Buddha’s temple with lots of Tibetan monks. After spending some time there, we then headed to Nisargadhama. Its island like place surrounded all sides by river kaveri and is full of trees and few animals. After some time, we noticed that rain almost stopped, so we immediately headed to our next destination River Rafting. It was first time for everyone of us, so we enjoyed it very much. But it costed us Rs. 600 per head. We became all wet in river water so went back to our cottage and changed dress and then headed to TalaCauvery.

TalaCauvery is 40kms from Madikeri and is a temple on a hill which is considered as starting point for river Cauvery. We reached there at around 5′O clock in the evening and it was still drizzling. Once we got down the Tempo, we could not believe our eyes. We were literally in clouds. Its wonderful sight to see. The place was full of clouds and its just looking like heaven. We spent more than an hour there and none of us wanted to go back. But traveling on Ghat road during nights is not safe, so we started from there at around 6:30 PM.

Since we covered most of the places in Coorg, next day 6th July, we went to Mysore. We just visited Mysore Palace there and then started to Bangalore as we have to train to catch in the evening.

Overall, it was a great experience and everyone of us enjoyed a lot. I filtered and categorized the photos taken by four of us and uploaded them to picasaweb with original resolution. Check them at below links.

I tried the setup on these two monitors, but did not like it because of small 17″ Campaq monitor. Then I took the 22″ Dell Widescreen monitor from one of my team mates who is on vacation (ofcourse, with her permission) and had setup the Dual Monitor with the two 22″ widescreen monitors for Linux Box. Found a cool wallpaper at this link when I googled for dual monitor wallpapers. Now its just looking amazing. Check the below image and screenshots. I will enjoy this awesome setup atleast till my team mate comes back from vacation

But couple of weeks back, I asked myself “Am I depending more on Microsoft?”. Being Microsoft hater, I decided to completely remove vista and install Linux. Then I installed Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) 64bit edition. But I could not completely avoid using Windows because of some windows-only software. So, I installed Windows XP using VMware.

Kubuntu (Ubuntu with KDE) is the best User-Friendly Linux distribution available for PCs. I feel even linux newbies can start using it right away very easily. Kubuntu 8.10 came with KDE 4.1 and I upgraded it to KDE 4.2. It has cool Plasma effects (similar to Aero in Vista).

I am not new to linux, but its the first time I’m using it for everything (almost .. Check out few screenshots of rocking combination Kubuntu 8.10 and KDE 4.2 on my Home PC.

Few days back, I came to know that we can change the alignment of this monitor and make it vertical. At home, I have Viewsonic 19″ Widescreen LCD monitor but it cannot be rotated physically.

Yesterday I tried to turn my office monitor’s display vertical. And guess what, it was superb. I need not scroll much to view web pages or to view the code. And then I have set “Aishwarya Rai’s Jodhaa” wallpaper which made it look more beautiful. I may revert it back after few days, but for now.. I’m loving it

Friends, New Year Greetings.. Hope you guys would start doing something useful atleast this year…. like me

haha.. Just Kidding.. Have a Joyful Year..

It was just one day trip and we were 26 people (22 Adults and 4 Children). We could not manage to get Railway reservations as it was planned in last minute. So, we went there in 25 seater minibus. Don’t ask me how was the journey

I carried my new Digi cam along with me, but could not manage to take great snaps. Anyway, sharing some of them.

But till then, I can not depend on my mobile phone as it does not have a great camera. So, I finally decided to buy a decent point-and-shoot camera.

I searched for some models and gave some links to my brother Vasu for his opinion. He replied back with link to Samsung S760 and told me that he would buy it. We received it from Sify last saturday, just a day before he returned from Sweden.

It costed us Rs. 4890 along with 1GB memory card. Haven’t used it much in this one week, but will sure share my experiences with it in future. If you are looking for complete details and review about this camera, then check here.

Citrus Alarm Clock

Being a very very very lazy guy, I used to wake up at around 7 or 8 AM in the Morning. But three months back, I decided to wake up early and bought traditional Alarm Clock.

The alarm clock idea was successful for 2 months and I was getting up early. But the problem was with the annoying and irritating sound it makes. I used to feel like breaking the clock in to pieces.. Actually I did that a month back, but not intentionally, when I woke from deep sleep at 5′o Clock in the morning. After that, I was back to normal timings (7 to 8 AM). I did not buy new clock as I was happy with out that annoying sound.

Last week, I got an idea and searched google for alarm softwares. First result was Citrus Alarm Clock and I immediately downloaded it. And as expected, it has feature to set a song/mp3 as alarm notification. Only issue with this software is, its 30 day trial version. I might try some other software after it expires.

I have configured it to play “Nanani Neevani” song from Kotha Bagaru Lokam. Its really nice waking up listening to sweet music. Am loving it

Update: Couple of my friends asked me whether I will keep my system ON whole night. FYI: My system would be running 24×7 downloading Movies, Games and/or Software and I have BSNL Dataone Home 1350 Unlimited 512/256 kbps internet connection

My Breakfast

In my search for Healthy meals.. I prepared below recipe for my breakfast.. ofcourse.. by collecting information from Internet and Friends..

Here is the Recipe…

- 1 Glass (~250ml) of Milk
- 1 Scoop (~30g) Whey Protein powder
- 1 Cup Corn Flakes
- 1 Banana
- 1/2 Apple

If my mom prepares Idli, then I avoid Corn Flakes and Apple and take only milk with Why Protien Power and Banana.

In addition to above, I always eat Omelette with 2 eggs everyday morning.

It was Poornima’s choice to go to this movie. So, I had booked tickets in Prasadz Screen 5. I was under impression that movie would be average, specially after reading Jeevi’s Review in Idlebrain.

But I was wrong. Or may be its because I had no expectations. The movie was excellent. I enjoyed every minute of the movie. Nice comedy. Abhay Deol was great. Neetu Chandra was cute. I recommend this movie for everyone who loves decent comedy movies. Go and Watch.
